Canada Houseboat 2006

A week's rental of a houseboat on the Trent-Severn lock system in Canada. The system is 240  miles long, so you simply go to the area you think will be interesting. You have a map and choose where to go. Some of the locks are great places to stop for the night as they had restaurants and interesting shops. A few of the locks are still operated by hand. An operator comes out and turns the mechanism to open and close the lock.

(Stopped at Niagara Falls on the way home.) 

We started our life together with travel and adventure and this was ONE of the adventures early in our 2nd year.

2004 in Italy, Jim & Kim

Our first year together, 2004, continues with this video of our travels in Italy.  

In Venice our 3 hour gondola ride with a musician and singer was a highlight, so we focused on that in this video but there's so much more.

Then there's Florence, Rome, Pompeii, and Capri.  

With Covid-19 expected to be around for awhile, our adventures are on hold. However it does give us time to reminisce and build these videos.

The beginning of the adventure. 2004

This blog is tracing the 16 (and continuing) years of a seemingly fairy-tale adventure and romance. A "love-at-first-sight" meeting at the end of March, 2004, led to a first date about a week later. The level of compatibility we found, is still amazing to us. Couples that spend many years together can often surprisingly make the exact same comments at the same time. We were surprised to have this happening within the first month after we met. 

We live together 24 hours a day and only a few times in all these years were we apart overnight. We have traveled the US, South America, and Europe extensively, enjoying adventures along the way. 

Now in the unfortunate pandemic, we are at ease staying at home together and creating mini-adventures; visiting local parks (nearly vacant), enjoying the wildlife and doing home improvement projects. Of course, creating videos from our many 1,000's of photos is a fun project. We are at ease waiting and planning for travel, when the world returns to normal. Here is the first video of the project and hopefully there will be more in the coming weeks or months.   -  Jim
